Job summary

EDL is seeking a seasoned Business Development Strategist to drive opportunities in renewable energy and environmental markets. You will research, evaluate, and originate projects, while supporting growth strategies and commercial negotiations across stakeholders.

You will analyze market dynamics, build financial models, and prepare actionable insights for leadership. Travel to customer sites and industry events will be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years in business development, commercial management, project development, strategic planning, or financial analysis.
• Experience with renewable energy markets or environmental attribute programs preferred.
• Experience supporting contract negotiations, partnerships, or commercial transactions is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Financial modeling and data analysis proficiency.
• Ability to interpret complex market, operational, and financial information.
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel as needed to customer sites and events.

Responsibilities

• Identify, research, and evaluate new business opportunities in renewable energy and environmental markets.
• Support growth strategy development aligned with company objectives.
• Assist with origination and advancement of new projects from opportunity assessment through execution.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop business cases and strategic recommendations for investments, partnerships, and expansion.
• Analyze markets to identify opportunities for value creation and monitor regulatory changes.
• Support registration, certification, reporting, and compliance for environmental programs.
• Coordinate commodity transactions and maintain supporting documentation.
