Job summary

Mission Pet Health is hiring a Relief Scheduling Specialist to ensure our 850+ hospital network has the right veterinarian coverage at the right time. You’ll act as the strategic liaison between hospital leaders, relief DVMs, and third-party providers, combining white-glove service with data-driven decisions to optimize staffing and costs.

You’ll drive workforce management beyond scheduling, uncover insights from relief provider data, and influence organic revenue growth through smart staffing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of relevant work experience (coordination, scheduling, operations, analytics, or customer success roles).
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; you build rapport with diverse stakeholders, from doctors to hospital leadership.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
• High level of computer literacy and comfort learning new platforms quickly.
• Self-starter mentality with demonstrated work ethic and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for hospital leaders, relief DVMs, and third-party relief partners, building trusted relationships.
• Understand relief staffing needs with Hospital Managers, Operations Analysts, and Field Leadership to ensure timely, cost-effective fulfillment.
• Negotiate optimal shift rates and terms with third-party, independent, and internal relief providers using data insights.
• Identify data quality issues and staffing patterns to inform strategic decisions.
• Translate findings into actionable process improvements across the relief shift lifecycle.
• Champion tools and platforms (Relief Portal, Microsoft Suite, relief vendor platforms) to drive efficiency.
