Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Director (AVP) in Legal and Compliance to manage regulatory examinations and risk reviews for the Americas Market Conduct Regulatory Relations Group. You will coordinate regulator requests, prepare materials, and communicate findings to stakeholders globally.

Ideal candidates have a JD or MBA and 5+ years in regulatory banking or legal/compliance roles, with strong written/oral skills, planning ability, and a collaborative leadership style.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required.
• JD/MBA a plus.
• 5+ years banking experience from a regulatory organization or in a legal/compliance/regulatory background.
• Strong written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong planning and organization skills.
• Ability to multitask, be flexible, manage to a deadline, adapt to change of priorities.
• Ability to work independently with regulatory staff and senior personnel globally.
• Sound judgment in identifying risks and escalating to senior management.
• Strategic thinker with attention to detail when necessary.
• Must be a self-confident leader with collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Front-to-back management of concurrent regulatory examinations and risk reviews.
• Coordinate regulator requests and ensure stakeholders are apprised of status.
• Maintain detailed status of open examination and risk issues.
• Advise on regulatory responses and remediation plans.
• Assist with regulator meetings and preparation of internal materials.
• Prepare internal stakeholders for examinations and meetings.
• Foster proactive relationships with regulatory counterparts and internal teams.
• Stay current on regulatory landscape and emerging rules.
• Support Reg Relations initiatives across regions and functions.
• Partner with senior management to ensure timely, accurate responses.
