Job summary

Bourn Companies seeks a Project Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting and strategic financial planning for a diverse portfolio of large, mixed-use properties across retail, hospitality, office, and residential sectors. You will produce financial reports, perform bank reconciliations, support cyclical audits, and partner with cross-functional teams to drive value creation.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in accounting and 2–5 years of financial accounting experience, with strong Excel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 2 to 5 years' experience in financial accounting.
• Financial skills to both produce and review sophisticated spreadsheets and reports.
• Experience with understanding and interpreting legal documents is preferred.
• Not required, but helpful to have experience with Sage 300 CRE, Kardin, TimberScan.

Responsibilities

• Accounting Excellence: A record of excellence in accounting, with focus on real estate accounting or similar.
• Financial Analysis: Develop and analyze spreadsheets using pivot tables, lookups, dynamic arrays and financial functions.
• Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial/project reports for executives and capital partners including variance reports and cash flow forecasts.
• Legal Compliance: Review and adhere to leases, management agreements, operating agreements, vendor contracts, loan documents and construction contracts.
• Depth of Role: Hands-on accounting and involvement in executive level financial management of large, complex projects.
• Business & Industry Expertise: Understand marketing, leasing, design, entitlement, construction, capital structures, acquisitions and dispositions.
