Mortenson Development, Inc. (MDI) is seeking a Development Analyst to perform detailed financial analyses of potential development opportunities, conduct market research, and manage due diligence for new deals.

You will compile internal reporting and information packages for presentation and financing, while supporting the life cycle of the real estate development process. The role involves collaboration across teams, preparation of market inquiries, and presenting findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in real estate, business, finance, or accounting.
• Minimum two years of real estate experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Solid understanding of accounting and CRE terminology.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial, leasing, environment, land-use, entitlement analyses, and project reports.
• Coordinate budget preparation/tracking and governmental agency review.
• Conduct cash flow analysis for underwriting scenarios and debt options.
• Create and update financial analyses for new acquisitions and existing assets.
• Explain underwriting assumptions verbally and in writing.
• Perform comprehensive due diligence on new acquisitions from sourcing to closing.
• Prepare financial charts, data graphs, market inquiries, and comparable analyses.
• Create and manage presentation packages for new opportunities.
