Job summary

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) seeks an Acquisition & Relocation Lead (PAS5) for the Mt. Baker Area in Shoreline, WA. You will guide property acquisitions, relocation, and management, coordinating with engineers and teams to deliver compliant projects.

Responsibilities include reviews of documents, negotiations, and training new staff. Requires notary and driver’s license; travel may be required. Flexible/hybrid remote work options are available.

Qualifications

• Recent title clearing experience or real estate acquisition experience.
• Knowledge of acquisition/relocation laws, policies and procedures for public infra projects.
• Ability to lead professional staff in complex programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication with diverse audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review ROW plans, legal descriptions, appraisals, ownership docs for accuracy.
• Conduct negotiations and title clearing actions.
• Prepare and review offer packages, relocation notices, deeds and related documents.
• Perform on-site property inspections across the state.
• Develop relocation estimates and monitor relocation activities.
