Job summary

CKS Packaging, Inc. is seeking a Raw Material/Procurement Specialist in Atlanta, GA to lead supplier management and optimize inventory across multiple categories.

You will drive standardization, supplier performance, and significant operational savings while supporting one location. Responsibilities include purchasing raw materials and packaging, monitoring inventories, creating POs, negotiating terms, and coordinating with Production, Planning, Warehouse, Quality, and Accounting to prevent

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, purchasing, raw material planning or related manufacturing role.
• Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Purchase and procure raw materials, packaging, components, and other production-related supplies.
• Monitor raw material inventory levels and maintain adequate supply to support production schedules.
• Analyze production forecasts and material requirements to determine purchasing needs.
• Create and manage purchase orders and track orders through delivery.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, delivery schedules, and potential supply issues.
• Negotiate pricing and purchasing terms when appropriate.
• Identify potential material shortages and develop solutions to prevent downtime.
• Collaborate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, Quality, and Accounting.
• Maintain purchasing, inventory, supplier, and material records in ERP/MRP.
• Review supplier performance including on-time delivery, quality, pricing, and responsiveness.
• Assist with inventory reconciliation and cycle counts as needed.
• Monitor raw material usage and identify opportunities to reduce waste and excess inventory.
• Resolve discrepancies involving purchase orders, invoices, deliveries, and received materials.
