Job summary

CMC, a Fortune 500® company in the steel/construction reinforcement space, is seeking a purchaser in Morrow, GA. You will replenish inventory, evaluate suppliers, and process purchase orders to support timely receipts and payments while driving cost reductions.

This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in purchasing, strong Excel and communication skills, and a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years purchasing experience, preferably in retail or construction.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Strong problem-solving and vendor negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Replenish inventory using EOQ with primary and secondary suppliers.
• Evaluate and negotiate with potential suppliers on quality, cost, delivery, terms.
• Process purchase orders, monitor orders, and expedite as needed.
• Ensure timely receipts and authorize invoice payments; manage returns.
• Contribute to supply chain goals and cost-reduction metrics.
• Track KPIs and report on cost-benefit outcomes.
• Stay current with job knowledge through training and development.
• Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
