Job summary

Louisdreyfuscompany is seeking a logistics professional to optimize truck and rail shipments of biofuels and vegetable oils through a major US processing facility. You will support scheduling, pricing, and inventory management while coordinating with sales and operations teams to meet customer needs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (or 5+ years in logistics if no degree) and strong communication, negotiation and Excel skills. Travel up to 30% may be required as part of duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) preferred in Finance, Science or Logistics; minimum 3 years relevant experience.
• In lieu of a Bachlor’s degree, at least 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management or customs clearance of food grade products.

Responsibilities

• Support scheduling and executing biodiesel truck and rail logistics to suit customer needs.
• Maintain fleet consisting of oil, biodiesel, refined glycerin and canola railcars.
• Update forecast to support daily decisions on purchases and sales.
• Coordinate loading/unloading of rail to align with inventory and railcar availability.
• Participate in inventory management planning for biodiesel and vegetable oil.
• Coordinate inbound bean oil logistics with commercial and operations teams.
• Establish and maintain freight pricing matrices to/from origins/destinations.
• Communicate quality requirements to lab and operations teams.
• Prepare and aggregate paperwork for shipments inbound/outbound.
• Liaise daily with Biodiesel & Ingredients sales teams on markets.
• Focus on cost savings for logistics and resolve pricing discrepancies.
• Build relationships with freight providers and optimize carriers for lanes.
• Assist in merchandising by-products.
