Job summary

Tereina is a fast-growing B2B payments startup backed by SAP. We seek a Quality Engineering Lead to define our test strategy, build the tooling our engineers rely on, and ensure our releases stay free of regressions across environments.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, you will partner with the Payment and Platform teams, write tests, and guide a distributed engineering organization across time zones toward a culture of quality ownership.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software quality, quality engineering, or test engineering.
• At least 3 years leading quality strategy across multiple teams.
• Understanding of payments lifecycles, returns, exceptions, and reconciliation.
• Hands-on automation of API and end-to-end tests, improving tooling.
• Experience coordinating with external partners or customers on timelines and risk.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants and agents in engineering workflows.
• Mentoring engineers and leading through influence in a distributed team across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the test strategy for delivering software.
• Build and evolve quality tooling for engineers to test early and often.
• Establish regression-free release criteria and go/no-go decisions.
• Ensure payment flows perform under load and recover from failures.
• Collaborate with leadership to embed quality in planning and design reviews.
• Monitor quality metrics and share results with stakeholders across environments.
• Coordinate testing and certification activities with banking partners.
