Job summary

Smith is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join our SMITH team in New York. You will work with internal customers and vendors to optimize sourcing, negotiate prices, and manage purchase orders to support revenue growth and customer satisfaction.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in purchasing and a solid knowledge of supply chain management. You will collaborate with Operations and Accounting to ensure PO processing meets customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in purchasing.
• General knowledge of supply chain management.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with internal customers (ie. Sales) to increase revenue and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Develop, establish, build and maintain solid vendor relationships.
• Required sourcing, price negotiation and expedition of purchase orders (POs).
• Execute and manage POs and dispute resolutions in a timely manner.
• Develop and demonstrate working knowledge of Smith's purchasing methodology, commodities, services, industry standards, and terminology.
• Interface with Operations and Accounting departments to ensure PO's are processed seamlessly and meet the needs of the customer.
