Job summary

Shenandoah Community Health (SCH) is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to support the SCH accounting team by coordinating supply and equipment purchases for Shenandoah Valley Medical System and Shenandoah Pharmacy, LLC. The role requires detail orientation, speed, deadline discipline, and collaborative work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include managing inventory levels, negotiating vendor contracts, processing purchase orders, and assisting with accounts payable and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Community Health Center preferred.
• Proficient with Excel, Access, and Word.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Able to read technical forms and financial reports.
• Willing to uphold IOCD principles in teamwork.
• Respond quickly in urgent/emergency situations.
• Strong computer skills with accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inventory and supplies with department managers.
• Solicit quotes and create long-term purchase agreements.
• Ensure lowest price and best value for purchases.
• Create and process purchase orders in accounting software.
• Track and report material backorders from vendors.
• Communicate with vendors on deliveries, prices, and quality.
• Coordinate delivery and reconcile packing slips with POs.
• Review orders for completeness and policy compliance.
• Assist Accounts Payable Manager with payable compliance and invoicing.
