Shamrock Foods Company in California seeks a Branch Purchasing Specialist to be the anchor of the central purchasing group, coordinating with sales, operations, merchandising and marketing to drive purchasing, inventory, and vendor activities.

You will analyze reports, manage inventory levels, and guide cost of goods via supplier relations, while supporting branch initiatives and market growth. Flexibility for evenings and travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from college or university; or 5 years related experience - combination will be considered
• Clarity or E3 Trim Purchasing Experience or equivalent preferred
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, proportions
• Ability to write routine reports and to speak effectively before groups of customers
• Must be flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Some traveling will be required

Responsabilités

• Manage cost reductions or disposal of obsolete inventory
• Run branch shrink meetings and monitor shrink
• Meet goals for order fill and minimize daily lost sales
• Review buyer reports for timely action
• Manage SKU count, aged inventory and slow movers
• Maintain inventory levels by days on hand
• Control cost of goods via vendor management and cost of freight
• Manage a selected group of vendors and issue POs
• Coordinate with sales, category management, marketing and merchandising
• Attend branch sales meetings and category/marketing meetings
• Support launches of promos, RBI's and vendor conversions
