Professional Contractor Supply is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to optimize inventory, negotiate with vendors, and manage purchasing for select product lines. The role emphasizes strong supplier relationships, data-driven decisions, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure competitive pricing and timely availability.

Responsibilities

• Strategically manage inventory levels by monitoring market conditions.
• Maintain excellent supplier relationships and act as liaison between suppliers and company employees.
• Manage purchasing for certain product lines and rebuying; monitor inventory turnover.
• Make purchases of quantity items at best price, discount, and terms.
• Negotiate prices and terms; review supplier invoices for pricing and terms.
• Provide excellent customer service to suppliers and resolve concerns.
• Review damaged items to determine warranty coverage and contact vendors.
• Advise vendors, receiving, and accounting when damaged products arrive.
• Review slow-moving inventory to determine items for online and in-store sale.
• Assist in reviewing and moving dead stock.
• Advise management of vendor or customer issues, programs, and new products.
• Obtain current price sheets or catalogs and distribute to staff.
• Maintain records for each vendor line including terms, rebates, and returns.
• Assist in inventory cycle counting and reporting for control management.
• Other related duties as assigned by management.
