Job summary

Silfex Inc., A Lam Research Company is seeking a procurement professional to coordinate material, product and service purchases to support daily operations. You will manage supplier selection, cost negotiations, and contract implementation while maintaining alignment with quality and safety standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years purchasing experience, ERP/MS Office proficiency, and strong communication abilities to work with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 5+ years of purchasing experience.
• Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.), Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or Certified Purchasing Professional (C.P.P.) is desirable.
• Proficiency with personal computers including Internet and ERP systems; MS Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, analyzes, and interpret business material; write reports and procedures.
• Ability to effectively present information to groups.
• Ability to multi-task in a high paced environment; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensures materials, products and/or services are ordered and delivered on schedule in a cost-effective manner while meeting quality standards.
• Maintains control and accuracy of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and documents using ERP.
• Analyzes requirements including specs, preferred supplier, and date needed.
• Solicits and evaluates proposals for requested material or service.
• Interviews potential suppliers to determine if they meet requirements.
• Advises on appropriate supplier to be used.
• Negotiates lowest possible cost balanced against quality and production needs.
• Implements purchase contracts in compliance with company and government regulations.
• Coordinates distribution methods cost-effectively.
• Tracks supplier performance in quality, service, cost and delivery.
• Develops knowledge of Silfex QMS and applies Quality Procedures.
• Follows safety policies and reports unsafe conditions.
• Assists in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S.
• Performs tasks related to special projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
