Job summary

Encoder Products Company is seeking a Purchasing Agent to source and procure materials and supplies for manufacturing. You will manage supplier relationships, evaluate pricing and performance, and coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Production to resolve material issues.

The role is onsite with standard weekday hours and full benefits. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in purchasing/ procurement in an ERP/MRP environment, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and strong negotiation and

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience in ERP/MRP environment.
• Electronics or technical industry experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Purchasing/procurement certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage supply chain risks including supplier capacity and lead times.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with preferred suppliers.
• Source and procure raw materials and components per company requirements.
• Solicit and evaluate supplier quotes, pricing, and terms.
• Evaluate supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery, and service.
• Identify qualified suppliers for new or difficult-to-source items.
• Evaluate cost-saving opportunities and present recommendations to management.
• Maintain forecast data and inventory levels; ensure timely delivery of orders.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders; manage replenishment requests.
• Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Production to resolve material issues.
