Job summary

gpac is seeking a General Manager / Purchasing Manager for a Lumber & Building Materials operation in Temple, TX. You will oversee day-to-day purchasing, inventory, warehousing, delivery, and branch performance while leading a team and driving profitability.

You will purchase lumber, panels, and engineered wood products, manage supplier relationships, monitor market trends, and develop long-term buying strategies to optimize turns and prevent shortages.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a lumber/building materials environment.
• Strong purchasing of lumber, panels, engineered wood products.
• Ability to analyze margins and inventory data.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations including purchasing, inventory, warehouse and branch performance.
• Purchase lumber, panels, engineered wood products, and related materials while controlling costs and stock.
• Build partnerships with mills, wholesalers, manufacturers and distribution partners.
• Monitor market conditions and pricing to inform purchasing decisions.
