Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead purchasing and supplier relationships, driving cost savings, inventory efficiency, and continuous improvement across operations.

You will direct Purchasing Reps, manage warehouse staff, qualify suppliers, and develop cost-reduction strategies while partnering with production and quality teams to optimize materials flow and lean initiatives. A BS/BA and ERP experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree preferred.
• APICS CPIM preferred.
• 5-7 years’ supply chain experience and 3-4 years purchasing management experience preferred in a manufacturing environment.
• 3-4 years’ experience with ERP systems that utilize Master Planning and MRP required.
• Computer experience working on Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook programs

Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing team and direct Purchasing Reps.
• Oversee warehouse personnel.
• Qualify new suppliers and manage vendor relationships.
• Solicit RFQs for materials.
• Set annual cost-reduction targets and plans.
• Monitor supplier metrics: on-time shipments, NCRs, warranty.
• Conduct vendor audits and prequalifications.
• Coordinate with warehousing to control inventory.
• Reduce material shortages with production.
• Expedite past-due materials with suppliers.
• Support lean improvements in materials management.
• Use ERP to improve supply chain efficiency.
• Travel to customer sites as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and keep area organized.
• Report injuries/near misses/accidents to supervisor.
