Job summary

Perry Homes is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead our purchasing functions with a strong focus on trade partner management, cost control, and operational execution for homebuilding projects.

You will negotiate contracts, drive sourcing strategies, oversee supplier performance, and work closely with Construction and Estimating teams to ensure timely, cost-efficient procurement. Travel in Houston and other Texas markets is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business, supply chain, construction management or related field.
• 5+ years negotiating experience with leadership responsibilities.
• 2+ years leadership or supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of estimating and purchasing in residential construction.
• Willingness to travel in Houston and Texas markets.

Responsibilities

• Leads execution of the company's purchasing strategy and aligns with operations.
• Develops sourcing strategies, pricing structures, and approved vendor programs.
• Evaluate trade base, onboard new vendors, and maintain supplier diversity.
• Manage contract renewals, updates, and addendums.
• Oversee supplier relationships, risk mitigation, and continuity of supply.
• Negotiate pricing and rebate agreements with major vendors/contractors.
• Coach Purchasing Agents in pricing, contracts and supplier agreements.
• Oversee department workflow and processing of vendor documents.
