Job summary

Allan Myers, Inc. is seeking a confident Purchasing Manager to oversee the purchasing function, supplier selection for asphalt, aggregate and transportation, and long-term pricing strategies. This on-site role requires local office presence and strong negotiation skills.

Ideal candidate has at least 5 years in a similar role and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial, Business, or a related field, with experience in heavy civil construction or asphalt/aggreagte industries preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial, Business or related degree.
• Experience in Heavy Civil Construction and/or Asphalt/Aggerate industry a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish supplier and contractor base for materials and services required for asphalt, aggregate and transportation.
• Review subcontractor/supplier selection for projects.
• Negotiate purchase orders and subcontracts to project and production specifications.
• Review, analyze, perform ROIs and summarize bids considering price, delivery, quality, past performance of supplier, etc.
• Maintain procurement records of items purchased and their respective cost for future bidding requirements.
• Review supplier performance for safety, cooperation, timeliness, quality.
• Liaison between company and all of its material suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ability to buy on a multi-site platform and manage that process remotely.
