Job summary

Core & Main is seeking a procurement professional to manage indirect purchasing and inventory decisions. You will generate spending trend reports, help with budgeting, and negotiate favorable contracts with vendors to secure the best pricing and products.

The role involves coordinating with field teams, communicating backorder status, and driving process improvements to boost accuracy and efficiency across purchasing functions.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in a related area of responsibility.
• 3–8 years of order entry and customer service experience.
• Bachelor's degree or technical certification may be preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proactive communication with management regarding indirect purchasing decisions.
• Generate reports for spending trends and initiate resolution plans to control indirect spend costs.
• Assist with departmental budget preparation and management.
• Negotiate contracts and prices with vendors to obtain best pricing and products.
• Enter backorders and communicate backorder status to teams.
• Identify process improvements to increase accuracy and productivity.
