Job summary

Core & Main, a national leader in infrastructure solutions, seeks a Purchasing Coordinator to manage material procurement and vendor negotiations. You will review queues, analyze items for purchases, and ensure orders align with delivery timelines and pricing.

The role emphasizes collaboration with vendors, sales, and customers to optimize stock and profitability. Responsibilities include tracking orders, adjusting pricing in the inventory system, and ensuring accurate delivery dates.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline. Certification may be required in some areas. 0-2 years of experience in related field OR MS/MA and 0-1 year of experience.
• Experience with procurement processes and vendor management.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Review procurement queue and analyze items for potential purchases.
• Ensure material is placed on order; follow up with vendors, sales and customers on delivery, specifications and pricing.
• Coordinate flow of material from vendor to customer in a timely fashion.
• Follow up on order changes, cancellations, returns and related fees.
• Evaluate daily purchasing reports; prioritize purchase orders for optimal stock and profitability.
• Maintain purchasing parameters in the inventory system and verify price changes.
• Monitor open orders and update projected delivery dates.
