Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Purchasing Specialist in Clyde, NY to manage strategic procurement for aerospace/defense and industrial applications. You will identify suppliers, negotiate contracts, issue POs, and monitor performance.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in purchasing, strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills, and willingness to travel internationally, including quarterly trips to Scotland.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in business/admin/related field.
• 6+ years of progressive purchasing or procurement experience.
• Strong strategic sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management skills.
• Experience with procurement processes, contracts, and supplier performance.
• Experience with purchasing systems, MRP, or EDI tools.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, delivery schedules, and terms.
• Issue purchase orders and manage procurement agreements.
• Monitor supplier quality, delivery, and performance.
• Resolve supplier issues, delivery delays, and quality discrepancies.
• Develop alternative suppliers and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Analyze procurement data and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and industry regulations.
• Travel to Scotland quarterly to meet with suppliers and represent the company professionally.
