Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a purchasing professional to lead supplier relationships, implement purchasing strategies, and manage contracts and inventory control across plant operations. You will negotiate supplier agreements, analyze costs, and support cost-savings initiatives while coordinating with plant, accounting, and management teams in a fast-paced production environment.

Associate’s degree and 3–5 years purchasing experience are required; bachelor’s degree and APICS certification

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
• 3-5 years purchasing experience in a similar production environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Material Management, Logistics Management, Supply Chain or related field (preferred).
• APICS certification (preferred).
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and supplier contract execution.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier purchase order maintenance and support cost-saving initiatives.
• Analyze plant purchasing by product type and develop strategies to reduce costs.
• Negotiate supplier contracts to achieve optimum product costs.
• Collaborate with plant management, accounting, and maintenance to reach cost goals.
• Maintain 5S and manage inventory and MRO, packaging, and ingredients.
• Develop and implement purchasing SOPs and train staff.
