Job summary

Tenneco in Manitowoc, Wisconsin seeks a Purchasing Supervisor to plan, execute and finalize procurement strategies for the plant. You will acquire resources within budget and coordinate with the plant, commodity buyers and stakeholders to meet business plan objectives and productivity targets.

The role oversees staff, manages the local purchasing budget, and drives best-in-class purchasing processes, supplier performance, and cost-reduction initiatives while ensuring on-time delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred.
• Experience in automotive/mass production purchasing is a plus.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and develops assigned staff in charge of plant procurement.
• Proposes and manages the local Purchasing budget.
• Implements purchasing 'Best in Class' processes and procedures.
• Contributes to purchasing objectives: index, quality level, supplier count, payment terms.
• Covers Direct material, MRO, capex, and locally purchased services.
• Coordinates with commodity managers and plant stakeholders on sourcing strategies.
• Monitors trends in spending and inventory to identify savings opportunities.
• Analyzes pricing, lead times, and capacity for goods and services.
• Coordinates with suppliers on pricing, terms, warranties, and performance.
• Ensures supplier performance and ERP pricing accuracy.
• Supports optimization of supplier count and payment terms.
• Maintains local plant contracts and supports PPV analysis.
• Ensures on-time delivery and budget target achievement.
