Job summary

Boise Cascade Company is seeking a Purchasing Agent or Sr Purchasing Agent DOE to source materials and services at the best cost. You will review requisitions, obtain quotes, negotiate terms, and manage contracts while coordinating with accounting, production, and warehousing to ensure timely delivery.

The role emphasizes supplier relationship management, cost reduction, and alignment with safety and quality standards, with a focus on supporting manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent work experience in purchasing or related field; degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of procurement experience or equivalent manufacturing support.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Strong PC skills; experience with purchasing programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain sources of materials and services at the lowest effective cost.
• Review requisitions, obtain quotes, analyze proposals, negotiate, and manage blanket orders.
• Coordinate with vendors, sales reps, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor vendor quality, shipments, and backorders; maintain supplier relationships.
• Work with warehouse and production leads to manage inventory and logistics.
• Ensure safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous improvement.
