Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. in Missouri seeks a Purchasing Agent to join our team at the Bismarck plant. You will negotiate prices with vendors, coordinate with departments to ensure equipment availability, and report to the plant manager.

The role focuses on cost optimization, supplier relationships, and compliant purchasing processes. Required is a bachelor’s or associate degree in purchasing or related field with at least 5 years of manufacturing procurement experience and ERP system proficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience in manufacturing
• Experience negotiating with vendors and contractors
• Experience using ERP systems
• Ability to collaborate across departments and manage multiple stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Analyze markets to assess material availability and determine cost‑effective procurement strategies
• Locate vendors and interview for product availability and sales terms
• Implement purchasing policies and contract management instructions
• Develop equipment specifications with internal teams
• Resolve vendor disputes and review contracts for policy conformance
• Administer online purchasing systems and maintain purchase records
• Coordinate with Maintenance for spare parts procurement and support
• Support plant with safety, health, and environmental reporting requirements
