Job summary

The Public Utility Commission of Texas seeks an experienced Purchaser to support the Financial Resources department in buying goods and services in line with agency policies and state laws.

You will review requisitions, prepare procurement documents, coordinate with vendors and staff, and maintain accurate records. The role offers on-site work with room to apply initiative and judgment in a structured public-sector environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing goods and services and knowledge of state purchasing guidelines.
• Certification as CTCD and CTCM must be obtained within six months of employment.
• Familiarity with CAPPS and public sector procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Purchaser in procuring goods and services in compliance with policies and laws.
• Review requisitions for accuracy and ensure alignment with guidelines and statutes.
• Coordinate procurement activities with divisions and vendors to meet needs.
• Prepare and review bids, invitations, and purchase orders for accuracy.
• Process orders, track status, and maintain procurement records.
