Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer in Illinois or obtain reciprocity within 12 months.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Seven or more years of professional engineering work, with five+ years in a PM role on municipal contracts >$1M.
• Three+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Knowledge of civil/architectural engineering theory, design, specs, and construction techniques.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager on highly complex or federally funded projects.
• Evaluate staff performance and recommend actions on salaries and training.
• Oversee GIS components and coordinate with IT for public works data.
• Prepare RFPs/RFQs, bid documents, and manage consultant contracts.
• Prepare loan/grant applications and related disbursement and reporting.
• Coordinate with state/federal agencies and internal departments on projects.
• Present to City Council, boards, commissions, and the public.
