Job summary

Fehr Graham Engineering & Environmental is seeking a Municipal Project Manager in Aurora, IL to lead the planning, design, and delivery of infrastructure projects serving communities. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and act as the primary client contact to ensure successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have 8–12 years of municipal engineer project management experience, a PE license (or ability to obtain within a year), and strong proposal and business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required, or the ability to obtain licensure within the first year.
• Strong project management and organizational skills are expected.
• Excellent written and spoken communication with clients and teams.
• Ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Experience preparing proposals and supporting client presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects (water, wastewater, stormwater, roadways).
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to meet scope, schedule and budget.
• Serve as day-to-day client contact and build relationships with municipal leaders.
• Prepare proposals, cost estimates, reports, and technical documentation.
• Oversee permitting, regulatory coordination and QA reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians; support business development with current and prospective clients.
