Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) is seeking a Senior Program/Budget Analyst to lead multiple budget and analysis projects and coordinate the department’s annual budget development process in partnership with analysts.

You will prepare the base budget, review division expansion requests, maintain block grant plans, and evaluate budget-related provisions, working with senior leadership to ensure funds advance department goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance plus three years of progressive related experience, two years in a supervisory role.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
• Knowledge of budgetary practices and legislative processes affecting program development and execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple budget and analysis projects related to the Department’s budget and service alignment.
• Support coordination of the annual budget development process with analysts; prepare base budget and review division expansion requests.
• Maintain block grant plans and evaluate budget-related provisions to ensure funding supports department goals.
• Collaborate with senior leadership, division budget staff, and program teams to optimize funding usage.
