Job summary

Office of State Budget and Management (OSBM) in North Carolina seeks a Budget Execution Analyst I/II to support the Governor’s budget process. You will provide technical guidance on budget management, monitor adjustments, and oversee agency expenditures to maintain a balanced budget.

The role requires familiarity with public administration and accounting, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a hybrid environment with some onsite days.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of public administration, accounting, and budgeting.
  • Experience researching, analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing data.
  • Familiarity with state budgets and legislation and performance evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to agencies on budget management.
  • Monitor budget adjustments within the State Budget Act and policies.
  • Oversee agency budgets and expenditures for a balanced budget.
  • Analyze expenditures/revenues and propose solutions for shortfalls.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and integrity in management tasks.
