Job summary

The North Carolina Office of State Budget and Management (OSBM) is seeking State Budget Management Analysts I (NC19) and II (NC21) to join our budget execution team in Raleigh. You will provide technical guidance to agencies, monitor budget adjustments, oversee agency budgets, and analyze expenditures and revenues to support the Governor’s base budget for the next biennium.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of public administration, accounting, budget and program analysis, and evaluation.
• Experience with analyzing complex data and making recommendations using the Microsoft Suite.
• Knowledge of how state budgets and legislation are prepared and executed.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and guidance to agencies on budget management.
• Monitor and evaluate budget adjustments within laws and policies.
• Oversee agency budgets and expenditures to ensure a balanced budget.
• Analyze expenditures and revenues to support the Governor’s base budget for the next biennium.
• Demonstrate critical thinking to identify and solve problems for leadership and staff.
• Work independently with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain professionalism and build strong relationships while meeting deadlines.
