Leeward Renewable Energy is seeking a Public Affairs Manager (P4) to lead engagement across the East Region, coordinating with Development, Legal, and Government Affairs to manage stakeholder outreach and communications. The role will require travel 25-50% and a blend of in-office and hybrid work.

The ideal candidate has a background in renewable energy or large infrastructure, plus experience in stakeholder engagement, policy environments, and cross-functional collaboration.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs, Political Science, Communications, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience
• 6–8 years of experience in public affairs, stakeholder or community engagement, advocacy, communications, or a related field; renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure experience preferred
• Proven experience leading stakeholder-facing efforts and serving as a trusted representative of an organization in public meetings, hearings, and industry forums
• Demonstrated ability to interpret project development risk and provide strategic, judgment-based recommendations
• Strong track record of building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders such as elected officials, government agencies, indigenous tribes, NGOs, community leaders, or external partners
• Experience navigating permitting and land use processes with federal, state, or local approvals
• Experience managing external communications, public affairs, or public relations agencies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and facilitation
• Highly collaborative with ability to influence outcomes without direct authority
• Sound judgement and ethical behavior
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM tools a plus
• Passion for renewable energy and community-centered project development

Responsabilidades

• Provide strategic public affairs leadership across LRE’s East Region development portfolio
• Shape public affairs priorities and advocacy strategies for projects
• Lead coalition building, grassroots engagement campaigns, land use advocacy efforts
• Represent Leeward Renewable Energy in public meetings, hearings, and industry organizations
• Manage external communications and agencies to align with project goals
• Identify issues and advise leadership on permitting risks and stakeholder concerns
• Develop strategic communications materials including messaging and press content
• Participate in project team meetings and inform strategy development
• Conduct site visits to key project locations to support outreach
