Job summary

The Salvation Army in Kansas City seeks an experienced program leader to oversee two Permanent Supportive Housing programs. You will supervise staff and volunteers, manage budgets, and ensure HUD compliance while aligning operations with community needs and funder expectations.

Responsibilities include program development, reporting, and cross-sector collaboration to improve outcomes for clients. A bachelor’s or master’s in social work and strong leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Social Work; preferred.
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience (BSW level) / 2 years (MSW level).
• Experience in housing/homeless services or PSH programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall implementation and execution of the two PSH programs.
• Ensure fiscal stewardship, financial controls, reconciliation, and HUD compliance.
• Develop and maintain program goals, work plans, metrics, and operations strategies.
• Provide direct supervision of program staff and volunteers; recruit and advise on hires.
• Oversee information management tasks: monthly stats, payroll, HUD reports, and program notes.
• Monitor quality assurance, annual reviews, and program compliance with standards.
• Support housing services: landlord recruitment, inspections, leases, and client needs.
• Engage agency and community partners; participate in MOUs and committees.
