Job summary

Harvard University in Boston seeks a Director of Prospect Strategy & Research to lead the institution’s prospect strategy and research function in support of fundraising priorities and long-term pipeline development.

The Director will oversee staff, establish priorities, and partner with fundraising leadership, analytics, and operations to expand prospect coverage and drive results across a diverse alumni population.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 10+ years of experience in prospect research or fundraising strategy.
• Experience leading and developing staff and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong understanding of major gift fundraising and prospect development.

Responsibilities

• Lead prospect strategy, identification, qualification, ratings, and prioritization.
• Develop scalable approaches leveraging research, analytics, and technology.
• Oversee research, ratings, screenings, and relationship intelligence initiatives.
• Lead operational processes, dashboards, and data-informed decision making.
