Job summary

The NYC Health Department, Office of Emergency Prevention and Response (OEPR), seeks a skilled program and policy coordinator to support strategic initiatives, prepare for high-level meetings, and drive timely completion of division projects. You will engage agency leadership, synthesize complex information, and ensure deliverables align with public health priorities for New Yorkers.

Applicants should have a Master’s in a relevant field and experience in emergency preparedness or public health,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in emergency management, public health, disaster management, or related field and 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Alternate: bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related full-time experience with at least 1 year in the area.
• Experience in public health emergency preparedness and response is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage or support special projects and strategic initiatives for the division.
• Lead preparation for high-level meetings and synthesize information for reports and briefings.
• Track Deputy Commissioner review and approval for divisions communications and documents.
• Provide regular updates on projects to senior leadership.
• Plan division-wide events and coordinate meetings and trainings.
• Prepare materials and maintain records of meeting proceedings.
• Coordinate responses to ad hoc requests from agency leadership and City Hall.
• Develop responses for speaking engagements and coordinate approvals for external presentations.
• Respond to public health emergencies when called upon.
