Job summary

The New York City Mayor’s Office is seeking a Project Manager, Programs, to provide communications, policy, and programmatic support for NYC Talent. This full-time role works with City Hall, city agencies, and external stakeholders to build an equitable, efficient workforce system that connects New Yorkers with good jobs.

The position reports to the Senior Advisor, Programs and is based in Manhattan, with a hybrid work option per city policy.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities related to duties.
• High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities.
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above, with at least one year of experience as described in point 1.

Responsibilities

• Manage project plans and deliverables, meeting deadlines and resolving issues.
• Provide administrative support to the Chief Policy and Programs Officer and Senior Advisor, Programs.
• Offer analysis and recommendations on policy and program decisions for NYC Talent initiatives.
• Coordinate and prepare briefings for meetings, events, and tasks.
• Draft meeting agendas, track next steps, and ensure follow-up items are executed.
• Develop and execute communications tools and strategies (printed materials, newsletters, social media).
• Support nonprofits and contracted providers with technical assistance and advisement.
• Coordinate with NYC Talent teams to align programming with industry trends and City priorities.
• Represent NYC Talent at meetings, public forums, and events with internal/external stakeholders.
• Supervise Youth Interns or Apprentices as needed.
• Support research and policy development to improve program effectiveness.
