Job summary

MoDOT seeks a Project Director for Alternative Project Delivery to lead the development and administration of innovative contracting methods such as Design-Build and Fixed Price/Variable Scope. You will oversee the success of projects delivered by the alternative delivery team, with primary work at the St.

Louis District Office and periodic co-location with Design-Build teams. The role requires a PE license in Missouri, ABET-accredited engineering degree, and six years of progressive engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Missouri.
• Six years of progressive engineering experience managing teams and multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct the alternative delivery team and coordinate with planning, design, bridge, construction, maintenance, legal, right of way, utility, traffic and maintenance staff.
• Monitor project activity and design plans for compliance with federal regulations and department policies; sign and seal roadway plans and specifications.
• Coordinate project activities and prepare agreements with cities, counties and other state and federal agencies.
• Serve as the department contact for elected officials, property owners, media, contractors and the public on project development issues; work with community relations to develop the project development communication plan.
• Review and make recommendations during highway construction plan development, including design exceptions.
