Job summary

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) seeks Project Development Specialists - West Team to support the Design-build process for the Blue Springs to Columbia, MO corridor, reporting to the Project Director and Deputy Director. Responsibilities include drafting design-build contracts, evaluating proposals, attending contractor meetings, auditing plans, and managing project documentation

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Certification to operate nuclear gauges may be required.
• Substitution of experience for education may be allowed.

Responsibilities

• Write Design-Build contract documents and compile information for the RFP.
• Review and score Statements of Qualifications and Proposals from design-build contractors.
• Attend one-on-one meetings with shortlisted design-build contractors.
• Serve as technical expert on the project.
• Audit design plans, specifications, and special provisions.
• Prepare required project documentation and check contractor progress.
• Complete audits based on Inspection and Testing Plan to verify QC.
• Review contractor schedules and monitor progress.
• Review and payment of contractor invoices.
• Negotiate and process change orders.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited college or university curriculum)
