Job summary

MoDOT seeks a Project Director for Alternative Project Delivery to lead innovative contracting methods such as Design-Build and Fixed Price/Variable Scope. This role oversees the success of projects delivered by the alternative delivery team, with primary duties at the St.

Louis District office and periodic collaboration with design-build teams. The position requires a PE license in Missouri, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and at least six years of progressive leadership in engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university curriculum.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri.
• Six years of progressive engineering experience with demonstrated ability to manage teams and multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct the alternative delivery team and coordinate with planning, design, bridge, construction, maintenance, legal, right of way, utility, traffic, and maintenance personnel on project planning, scheduling and budgeting.
• Monitor project activity for compliance with federal regulations and department policies; sign and seal roadway plans and specifications.
• Coordinate activities and prepare agreements with cities, counties and other state and federal agencies.
• Serve as the department contact for elected officials, property owners, media, contractors and the public on project development issues; develop the project communication plan with community relations.
• Review and make recommendations during the development of highway construction plans, including design exceptions.
