Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Project Buyer II to collaborate with project teams and suppliers for procuring materials, equipment, and services. The role focuses on consumables, indirect materials, and on-site services to support project needs.

Responsibilities include building supplier relationships, bidding, and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining cost-effectiveness. A bachelor’s in a related field and at least four years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
• Minimum 4 years of experience
• Current driver's license

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with suppliers, solicit bids, analyze quotations and select suppliers.
• Purchase items and services at the most favorable price while meeting quality and specification requirements.
• Create and maintain catalogs for each operating group or project supported.
• Propose purchase transactions for higher approval prior to final action.
• Arrange returns for unacceptable products to suppliers.
• Track order status from placement to delivery and communicate with project teams.
