Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a seasoned Senior Project/Program Manager to lead multiple related projects, executive operations routines, and strategic initiatives across several business lines from initiation through close.

You will collaborate with project managers and senior leaders to monitor cost, schedule, risks, and delivery performance, while ensuring governance and risk controls are integrated into planning and execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum 9 years’ proven project, program, executive operations, or strategic initiative management experience.
• Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent software packages.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodology, executive governance practices, operating routines, and cross-functional delivery management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence and gain consensus across senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple related projects, executive operations routines, and ongoing strategic initiatives impacting three or more businesses or functions.
• Develop integrated project plans, executive operating routines, forecasts, and schedules with detailed requirements and deliverables.
• Ensure governance structures, escalation paths, and stakeholder communications are included in plans.
• Drive execution and manage budgets, forecasts, governance routines, and progress tracking.
• Measure performance, identify variances, and prepare executive-ready updates for risks, decisions and progress.
• Implement actions to mitigate risks while aligning with enterprise priorities.
• Improve team performance by mentoring and coordinating resources across initiatives.
• Maintain adherence to risk, regulatory standards and internal controls.
