Job summary

The University of Chicago Booth School of Business invites applications for the Assistant Director, Programs and Events within the Booth Center for Applied Artificial Intelligence. This role coordinates logistics, registration, speaker support, and financial administration for a year-round event calendar serving students, alumni, faculty, and industry audiences.

You will lead the AI Workshop seminar series, supervise student staff, partner with communications for promotion, and refine processes

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher required.
Less than 2 years of related work experience.
4+ years of experience in event coordination or program administration (preferred).
Higher education experience preferred.
Experience processing reimbursements or managing event-related expenses.
Experience documenting operational processes.
Hands-on experience with Eventbrite or Airtable; proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

Develops and implements annual program and event strategies aligned with CAAI's mission and priorities.
Leads planning, execution, and evaluation of all CAAI programs and events, including budgets and logistics.
Manages vendor relationships and service agreements; ensures alignment with objectives and policy.
Oversees event registration and attendee engagement systems.
Manages the programming calendar and coordinates with faculty and partners.
Directs speaker engagement and logistics from confirmation to completion.
Administers and monitors program budgets and compliance with policies.
