Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) seeks a Program Director to lead the California Emergency Response Corps (CERC) within the National Service Programs. You will guide staff, manage budgets, and cultivate relationships with BACR, California Volunteers, and partner agencies.

Hybrid role in the San Francisco Bay Area with some remote work, yet requiring travel across California and occasional meetings in El Cerrito, CA.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of broad experience in managing and developing programs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with other community agencies.
• Ability to work independently while remaining engaged in a strong, mutually respectful team.
• Clear, friendly and professional public speaking manner; strong writing skills.
• Willingness to work weekends and/or evenings.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access) and Salesforce.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize.
• Must have their own vehicle and provide car insurance.

Responsibilities

• Guide CERC to fulfill its mission through strategic planning with staff.
• Recruit and select ACMs and staff; manage program expansion/reduction and deployments.
• Deployments budgeting; supervision and coordination with Project Coordinators and partners.
• Develop and maintain relationships with BACR, CV and partner agencies.
• Prepare regular reports and funding proposals; manage budgets and expenses.
• Oversee deployment supervision and on-ground staff support; travel as needed.
• Supervise AmeriCorps Members; conduct evaluations and provide coaching.
