The County of Riverside's Housing and Workforce Solutions (HWS) Department seeks a Temporary Program Specialist II under the Temporary Assignment Program (TAP) in Riverside. The position requires a Bachelor's in a related field and at least one year of lead or supervisory casework experience, with potential for involvement in interagency collaboration

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social welfare, social or behavioral sciences, social/human services, counseling, or a closely related field.
  • One year of lead or supervisory caseworker experience.
  • One year of experience comparable to a Program Specialist I.
  • Knowledge of social services and child support programs and related regulations.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and implement departmental policies and procedures.
  • Possession of a valid California Driver's License may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze new and revised legislation governing social services and child support to determine impact on operations.
  • Analyze operations and propose changes including staffing requirements and costs; coordinate implementation with systems and other areas.
  • Oversee general complaint function and investigate complaints in social services and child support programs.
  • Develop and review departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state/federal regulations.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and directives for use by the Director and staff in meetings with state officials.
  • Serve as liaison with state agencies and other departments; participate in interagency committees.

Education

Bachelor's degree in social welfare, social or behavioral sciences, social/human services, counseling, or a closely related field
