Job summary

Benchmark Insurance Company is seeking a Program Operations Accounting Manager to serve as the primary liaison between Program Partners and Finance, Accounting, and Data teams. The role will coordinate onboarding, ensure accurate general ledger setup, and support monthly close, data feeds, and reporting tools like Power BI and Prospero.

The position requires strong communication with stakeholders at all levels, extensive knowledge of insurance accounting, and a proactive approach to process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years’ experience in insurance and reinsurance accounting.
• Progressive accounting responsibility.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving accounting and data issues.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and STAT policies.
• Advanced Excel skills essential (INDEX-MATCH, OFFSET, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query, macros).
• Strong communication and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Manages accounting & finance tasks for due diligence and onboarding new programs.
• Assists data team in evaluating data feeds to/from programs.
• Participates in onboarding calls and meetings with external partners.
• Ensures general ledger, program codes, and experience reports are set up timely.
• Sets up and funds bank accounts as needed.
• Trains program accountants and ceded accountants on program structure.
• Maintains program documentation and process flows.
• Supports accounting memos and monthly close tasks.
• Resolves accounting issues with customers or vendors.
• Collaborates with internal auditors and the data warehouse team.
• Utilizes reporting tools and validates new tools as needed.
