Job summary

Virginia Tech seeks a collaborative Program Manager to advance workforce development initiatives in cybersecurity and related fields. Based in the Arlington hub, you will design experiential learning, internships, and project-based opportunities, connecting students with employers and public/private partners.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in workforce development or related field.
• Knowledge of workforce development principles, employer engagement and experiential learning.
• Experience designing or managing programs with measurable outcomes.
• Experience building relationships with employers, industry partners and government agencies.
• Ability to manage programs from planning through implementation within timelines and budgets.
• Knowledge of labor-market trends and translating needs into program strategies.
• Strong written and oral communication for diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced org.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience planning meetings and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead program execution across a portfolio of projects with cross‑functional coordination.
• Manage timelines, budgets, deliverables, and stakeholder engagement.
• Track engagement and performance metrics; prepare updates for leadership.
• Design and advance workforce development initiatives in collaboration with partners.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with employers, industry partners and agencies.
• Develop systems to measure student, employer, and program outcomes.
