Job summary

Sherman and Reilly Inc in Chattanooga, Tennessee is seeking a Production Scheduler to develop, maintain, and execute the master production schedule, ensuring on-time delivery and efficient resource use. You will coordinate across Sales, Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain to align plans with demand and capacity.

The role requires managing demand signals, material availability, and production capacity across saw, weld, machine shop and assembly, with a focus on SAP/MRP accuracy and inventory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
• 3–5+ years of experience in production scheduling, planning, or manufacturing operations
• Experience in heavy manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred)
• Strong understanding of production workflows, capacity planning, and material flow

Responsibilities

• Collaborates closely with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Material Control, Quality, and Sales to ensure all customer expectations are met while optimizing resources.
• Plans and coordinates production schedules for saw, weld, machine shop, and assembly.
• Maintains master production schedule in effort to minimize changes.
• Ensure all production schedules meet on-time delivery goals and raw materials requirements.
• Monitors sales forecast and production forecast to ensure demand is reflective in MRP.
• Schedules outside processing and communicates with outside supply vendors to ensures accurate and timely delivery of orders.
• Provides input to management regarding scheduling problems, material shortages, design changes, and backlogs.
• Provides weekly reporting on production orders status and completion to sales and service.
• Actively participate in analyzing and maintaining appropriate inventory levels to meet schedule requirements.
• Work with Operations to develop potential solutions to improve production performance.
• Lead and/or represent supply chain and operations on functional sub-teams where appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
