Job summary

ABB in Jonesboro, AR is seeking a Buyer/Planner to plan and create production schedules based on demand and stock levels. You will issue work orders and purchase orders to meet schedules, coordinating with production and suppliers to ensure material flow.

Responsibilities include leading daily Gemba walk, reporting on inventory and costs, and communicating with customers to update status and ship dates. The role requires a strong manufacturing background and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years in materials acquisition/planning role.
• Ability to manage a dynamic workload during peak periods.
• Strong project management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with work orders, inventory control and flow manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Review and distribute production work packages and shipment schedules.
• Lead the Service section of the daily Gemba walk; coordinate with supervisors on progress and dates.
• Compile reports on inventory levels, costs, and issues with production and purchased parts.
• Coordinate material needs with Production and outside supplier personnel.
• Communicate with facility personnel and customers to coordinate processing and shipping requirements.
